The Nest For Memory Care

The Nest is a neighborhood within the broader community of The Shores. Up to fourteen residents with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s and other dementias receive around-the-clock support. Families are welcome and encouraged to visit often.

The Nest is a cozy place where specially trained staff develops relationships with each resident. We learn each individual’s life story, and then help him or her find meaning in the moment.

We practice resident-focused care, which means that residents have freedom of choice at meals, access to snacks and food, and choices about their own schedule and activities. The goal is to help make each day personally meaningful.

Residents and families personalize each private suite.

The Nest space is designed to accommodate large group activities, family events, and supervised outings. There is a private secured courtyard with a walking path, with secured entrances and exits for the protection of residents.

Specially trained staff is on site around-the-clock to assess changes in health and provide support. Daily projects and activities are planned to enrich each resident’s life, with encouragement for all activities of daily living. At The Nest we seek to create personal relationships with each resident.
