The foundation of The Shores is more than bricks and mortar. The Shores is also built with a foundation of enduring values. We are certainly proud of our beautiful physical structure, but what makes The Shores different is how people live in the open spaces.
The Shores honors three guiding values: Courtesy, Community and Creativity. These values are woven into everything we do. You’ll even see the three values expressed in original paintings by Iowa artist Stan Fellows, proudly displayed in our lobby. Ultimately, these three values guide everyday behavior:
Courtesy
When people make an effort to be courteous to each other, it makes for a better day. Courtesy is free to give, and it pays back in smiles and warm feelings. It feels good to brighten another person’s day. At The Shores we endeavor to be kind and courteous each day.
Creativity
We are all creative by nature. Every thought, word and deed is a small creative act. At The Shores we value creativity because it improves morale, contributes to physical health, enriches relationships, and leaves a lasting legacy.
Community
We all need the support of other people. At The Shores, we want to provide more than physical support. We want to provide the support of a true community where people know each other and look after each other. Our path to community is built with courtesy and creativity.
